The head of press of the Maltese delegation at Junior Eurovision 2013 Daniel D'Anastasi confirmed to kids'music that Malta is very interested in hosting Junior Eurovision contest in the next year.

Our interlocutor assured us that Maltese TV doesn't have any financial problems which might interfere with Maltese intentions to host the contest, and that the EBU is very interested in Malta hosting Junior Eurovision as well since it gives the chance not only for the return of the participants who left the contest some time ago (namely, Greece) but also for the new participants from Western Europe to join as well.
