🇨🇦 Founded in 2013 by Artistic Director Carrie Tennant, the award-winning (VYC) Vancouver Youth Choir provides a space for promising young children singers (boys, girls), and teens, ages 5-24 to develop their artistry in a creative and supportive environment.
Mission is To lead Canada in choral groups education by providing high caliber professional level training in an inclusive community. We empower young kids singers to pursue artistic excellence in an environment of true belonging, where diverse traditions, cultures, and voices are respected and celebrated.🌍
Through Indigenous Music Education Program (IMEP), VYC makes meaningful contributions to truth and reconciliation via VYC Kindred, a program for newcomer and refugee youth, and VYC Partners, which brings Indigenous artists into elementary school classrooms. Committed to making vocal choral music accessible to all, VYC singers perform interactive concerts in VSB elementary schools, and VYC’s Concert Bursary Program provides school choirs with free tickets and transportation to VYC performances. «Canada helps»🍁
