The Wreck (United States)

The Wreck is a Honolulu based alternative pop band made up of five young musicians; Ian Wacksman (12) on drums, Nick Marabella (14) on bass, Josh Kay (14) on keyboards & backing vocals, Dylan Wacksman (15) on guitar & backing vocals, and Gino Romano (15) lead vocals & guitar. Their goal as a band is simple, to improve as musicians and to entertain people.
 
While they may seem young, these guys can really play! With a monthly gig at Hard Rock Café Honolulu as well as a number of festivals and non-profit events, The Wreck is quickly becoming the Honolulu band to see. Their music includes both originals, as well as covers from bands like Maroon 5, The Beatles, Bruno Mars, Stevie Wonder and many more.
 
“How old is that kid?” is a refrain often heard when Ian Wacksman, the youngest member of the band, is jamming on the drums. At only
12 years old, Ian has the skills of a seasoned percussionist.  Picking up his first pair of sticks at 8 years old, Ian quickly took to the drums progressing from basic riffs to hard jamming rock, indie, hip-hop, jazz and many more.  
 
Nick Marabella started studying classical music at the age of 10. Ever since then, he taught himself to play the bass guitar and ukulele at the ages of 11 and 12. Nick is influenced by artists such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, and Pino Palladino. He practices constantly, working his way to improve at the bass by learning new techniques and songs to bring his talent to the next level.
 
Josh Kay, the keyboardist, has been studying classical piano since the age of 4, and while he can play Chopin and Mozart with the best of them, his true love is rock and roll, and he can rock out with tunes spanning from Queen to Maroon 5. When he is not playing music, Josh can be found riding the waves at the best surf spots on the island.
 
Dylan Wacksman is the founder of the band and older brother of Ian. When not playing guitar, Dylan can be found updating the bands PR, arranging gigs and organizing and re-organizing his guitar pedal board. Dylan writes the bands' music along with Gino. Dylan is heavily influenced by artists such as, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton. 
 
Gino Romano not only plays the guitar, but he is also the lead voice for the band and writes the original music for the band alongside Dylan. Gino discovered his passion for music when he picked up his first guitar at the age of 10. Ever since, he had a hard time putting it down. Gino loves all kinds of music, especially rock, pop and the blues. He most admires John Mayer and emulates his talent as a guitarist and singer/song writer.
