It is the national network of symphony orchestras and choirs that provides low-income children and young people with a better quality of life.
Since 2009, 82 symphony orchestras and choirs have been integrated; 79 inside the Mexican Republic, two in El Salvador, one in the United States. More than 16 thousand benefited girls, boys and young people, along with their 1,300 teachers, in addition to learning music, develop high values such as discipline, the search for excellence and teamwork. The result is that our children and young people significantly improve their self-esteem, while inspiring their families and communities. This is the best way to strengthen our social fabric.
In January 2012, “La Constancia Mexicana” opened its doors in Puebla, the national headquarters of the Esperanza Azteca Symphony Orchestra. It has high-tech classrooms, sound and video libraries. This is the training center for the entire country and the school for 600 Puebla children. It is expected to soon offer a bachelor's degree in music.
In 2013, the orchestra was recognized by former US President Bill Clinton at the closing ceremony of the Clinton Global Initiative. Also in 2013, the Solidarity Concert was held in Acapulco, which featured the participation of 215 young people from all the Esperanza Azteca Orchestras, as well as the sopranos Ángel Azul and Micaela Alegría West, who joined the tenor Plácido Domingo, under the direction of teachers Eugene Kohn and Julio Saldaña, in support of Acapulco's reconstruction efforts due to hurricanes and floods.
In 2014, 160 concerts were held in Mexico; participated in several international and national cultural festivals; They were presented at The Aspen Institute, Museo del Barrio, Enseña por México “Teach for All”, CEMEFI, COPARMEX, Micropolis, Seguros Zurich, La Academia Kids, Caminos de la Libertad, 12th edition of the Business Summit, Ciudad de la Ideas 2014 and before the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, among many other events. In addition to this, they presented several concerts to benefit state DIF in solidarity with disadvantaged communities; as well as in support of victims of natural disasters during the year.
