The(Mwamba Rock Choir) Mwamba Children’s Choir group is a ministry-driven ensemble founded in 1998 in Kampala, Uganda, Africa. Drawing its name from the Swahili word for “rock,” the chorus embodies resilience and hope, using music to uplift vulnerable pre teen kids (boys and girls) and raise awareness—funds—for education, healthcare, community development, and songs. «Music in Africa».🌍
Founding Story Sparked by young 8-year-old orphan Omega Lwakatale’s plea to her pastor father after a cholera outbreak, the choir began as part of I Am Children’s Family Ministries. Core Mission • Provide holistic care (education, shelter, healthcare) for orphans and disadvantaged children • Use music tours to generate resources, advocate for kid’s rights • Foster unity, cultural pride through African repertoire.
