(Asante Choir) The Asante Children’s Choir brings together young voices (Boys, Girls) from East Africa to share stories of resilience, hope, and joy. In Burundi, the Ngozi-based ensemble is part of Asante’s broader mission to support orphans and vulnerable children through songs, dance, music and performance.
The choir emerged in a region scarred by years of civil war and genocide. Many vocal group members are kids or teen orphans or live in single-parent households. They have rehearsals, stage shows, and community outreach, the chorus band: Their colorful clothing, pounding drums and sweet voices demonstrate their hope and dream for a brighter future.
